I just watched the first episode of the animated adaptation of #TrueBeauty. Why does it feel like I watched episode 1 on 1.5x speed 😂. But in all seriousness, I think that they adapted the #webtoon well. (The pacing needs to slow down a bit but that’s just me.)
Now I kind of want to reread it.

Animation in East Asia is referred to as:

• #Anime (アニメ) in #Japan
• #Donghua (动画) in #China
• #Aeni (애니) in #Korea

As Western Fans, when referring to animated works from these countries, I think it is important that we use the correct terminology instead of referring to everything as “Anime”.

After watching some Donghua, I really think it’s doing a disservice to how truly fantastic and unique this animation from China is, to just refer to it as Anime. Just my opinion… 🤔🤔🤔
