I just noticed that the ghost hunter's mecca has "arms" made of Buddhist bells*. Considering how xianxia monks sometimes use ~astral projected ones as weapons and for protection, this feels like a logical development.

(*there is a difference to Christian bells, but if I say anything more than "different shapes" I'll start a neverending thread and a new obsession)

This movie is like a weird fever dream - in a _good_ way. And I want an annotated version for all the different ghosts, because I have even less of a clue here than I have in Spirited Away. Ghost taxonomy is not a big subject at university.
