it's been a while since i posted about #gamedev stuff on here, but i've been back on my pixeling for #Addlemoth
did a bunch of work on the tileset animations and updated the player sprites, they look much nicer when the player is turning now. overall game just looks really good now.
now that work project has more or less stopped holding me in its clutches, which took way longer than i think anyone expected, i am getting back to #Addlemoth
starting by cleaning up the lighting engine a little bit now that I have a fresh look at it. the left is what it'll look like in game most likely, while the right is me checking how it looks when i turn the lights out. #gamedev
i made a trailer for #Addlemoth the other day because I needed to, it's seemed pretty well received. it's not really professional or anything but it gets the idea across. you can play a demo of a much older build for free in your browser!
finally finished the new lighting system stuffs for #Addlemoth, starting to parcel it back out to the older stages. here's a comparison shot from one of the stages from the demo (https://mauve.itch.io/addlemoth !), really huge improvement in moodiness! very happy with this~
