So, to make moving my #Okta based authentication from my swollen-battery phone to my (soon to arrive) new phone, I wanted to set it up so that I could use my #Yubikey rather than just a push to my device. The instructions for enabling that tell me, "_Download the #Yubi Personalization Tool application and_…". I download and install the tool. I fire it up and the text is fucking TINY.

My laptop has a 4k (OLED) screen. Early in my ownership of it, I had to change a preference so that a number of my applications would render at a usably-large text-size. So, I was pretty sure that the tool was suffering the same problem, just not honoring the OS-level setting that made all my other tools work at a usably-large text-size. So, I do a quick search and find a Reddit post that tells me I need to add:

-platform windows:dpiawareness=0
To my tool-launcher's command-options.

Found the tool-launcher, popped open its Properties dialogue and made the change. The change fixed things, but why the fuck didn't it just honor the OS-wide setting??

This is about as annoying as all the apps and web-pages that ignore that I have my system set to dark mode. I shouldn't have to do this kind of individual application configuration. Why do software makers have to make things harder than they need to be???
