In the Twin Worlds story, they wouldn't know. In the first book, they have no idea who set up the Prince. They don't understand the Queen's illness.

(And I'm not spoiling anything yet.)

So if the person pulling the strings in the background were to die, they'd have no idea, other than that the attacks would stop.

Sara: I'm a nerd. Nobody thinks I'm pretty. Not proud of myself, why would I?

Crash: I'm a prince. *shrugs* Doesn't matter much. My power is forbidden.

Judy: If I could actually grasp my healer power, maybe I'd be proud, yes.

Krighen: Of course, I'm proud of being a portal guard. I'm vorxed good at it.
