Il video con le sue parole in apertura di conferenza stampa è destinato a entrare nella storia degli allenatori italiani all'estero, un po' come fu per l'impareggiabile sfuriata di Giovanni Trapattoni al Bayern Monaco nel 1998 in cui il tecnico si lasciò andare a un lungo rimprovero verso i suoi giocatori e in particolare verso Thomas Strunz.
"La voce dentro di noi"
I toni del 46enne allenatore bresciano sono stati più pacati ma altrettanto appassionati e l'inglese era maccheronico come il tedesco del Trap.
"La sfida più significativa che abbiamo davanti è mettere a tacere quella voce dentro di noi, dentro i giocatori, dentro lo staff e i tifosi", ha detto De Zerbi arrivato al Tottenham a marzo, "questa voce produce pensieri negativi e ci dice che siamo sfortunati, che abbiamo avuto troppi infortuni, che abbiamo perso Xavi Simons che nelle ultime due partite era stato uno dei giocatori più importanti per noi".
De Zerbi se l'è presa con chi critica lo staff medico "non all'altezza", il terreno dello stadio e del campo di allenamento ed esclude che il Tottenham possa vincere due o tre partite di fila: "Queste sono tutte cose negative ed è spazzatura", ha concluso, "non è il nostro miglior momento ma chi piange è un perdente e non voglio che chi sta vicino a me piagnucoli o la pensi diversamente da me".

The tone of the 46-year-old coach from Brescia was more subdued but equally passionate, and the English was accented like Trapattoni’s German.
“The most significant challenge we have before us is to silence that voice within us, within the players, within the staff and the fans,” said De Zerbi, who arrived at Tottenham in March, “this voice produces negative thoughts and tells us that we are unlucky, that we have had too many injuries, that we have lost Xavi Simons who had been one of the most important players for us in the last two matches.”
De Zerbi took issue with those who criticize the medical staff “not up to standard,” the stadium and training ground pitch, and excludes that Tottenham can win two or three games in a row: “These are all negative things and it’s trash,” he concluded, “it’s not our best moment but whoever cries is a loser and I don’t want anyone close to me to moan or think differently from me.”
