Always use #audacious . #ubuntu 6.06 was #xmms . That's all the reason.
@jimmac
I just returned after so many years to ~#xmms~ #audacity with good old #winamp #skins taken from https://skins.webamp.org/

Hey look at that!
I got XMMS running on a modern Linux system
It doesn't play any music yet though...

After several years I got the jitters of working on my machine with a #music background. I miss the #XMMS/winamp #skins. So please tell me your suggestion on the setup

Funny thing about #Music and #SelfHosting Now that I have my music locally and not in a cloud through some streaming service, I notice that there was normally a "big" wait from the time I pressed the play button until the song actually played compared to the self hosting way. Now the music plays instantly..

Reminds me of a time long gone when #WinAMP and #XMMS were the default players of local media!

God it's good to be back..

This #winamp vibes are hitting me hard with #audacious #xmms

This is incredibly silly, but I have been looking for this #XMMS skin for years after losing both it and the associated bookmark to time.

It was themed on the now defunct Spacefem.com site, a personal site for an engineer (you know, like we used to do 20 years ago.) I always loved that purple Saturn, and it's so nice to fill that memory gap. It was also a really neat site, and I'm enjoying browsing it again via the Wayback machine.

Skin works great in Audacious, too! 🙂

Industrial-AMP2.wsz | Winamp Skin Museum

=============================================== Industrial-AMP2 Skin. A different color but very much similar to the Industrial-AMP both in layout and style. Industrial-AMP2 is inspired by the current layout of my website Version - ET with a little touch of rust, anthracite, and raw metal look for the "industrial" part... more like steel works really. I added 1 extra VISCOLOR.txt file (VISCOLOR1) for the "Spectrum Analyzer" visualization for those who want it. Just rename the file from VISCOLOR1.txt --> VISCOLOR.txt. You can modify the visualization if you want and if you know how to do it but please leave all the graphics (images) as is. =============================================== Industrial-AMP skin.
