Il governo israeliano conferma l'espulsione di Saif Abukeshek e Thiago Ávila, attivisti che partecipavano all'iniziativa della Global Sumud Flotilla che era diretta verso la Striscia di Gaza ma che sono stati fermati a fine aprile in acque internazionali. "Al termine delle indagini, i due provocatori professionisti Saif Abukeshek e Thiago Ávila della flotilla della provocazione sono stati espulsi oggi da Israele", comunica il ministero degli Esteri israeliano via X. Israele ribadisce che "non consentirà violazioni del legittimo blocco navale imposto a Gaza".
Nelle scorse ore, quando iniziavano a trapelare le prime indiscrezioni sulla liberazione degli ultimi due attivisti, il team legale della Global Sumud Flotilla aveva accolto "questa notizia come una vittoria della mobilitazione popolare e della pressione costante esercitata in tutto il mondo negli ultimi giorni. Ma non smetteremo di insorgere finché Saif e Thiago non saranno finalmente a casa, sani e salvi. Continueremo a chiedere spiegazioni all'Unione Europea per quanto accaduto e sanzioni immediate contro Israele per questo rapimento illegale e per le continue violazioni del diritto internazionale e dei diritti umani del popolo palestinese".
Intanto Saif Abukeshek ha rivolto un appello a continuare la mobilitazione per la Palestina. "Ho lasciato dietro di me migliaia di palestinesi, detenuti, bambini, donne e uomini. Sono sicuro che il trattamento che ho subito io non è comparabile alla sofferenza che stanno passando. Le testimonianze che abbiamo sentito sono di torture e violenze quotidiane", ha detto in un video diffuso dal canale Telegram della Flotilla. "Non possiamo dimenticare i detenuti palestinesi. Dobbiamo continuare a mobilitarci finché la Palestina sarà libera", ha insistito. Operazioni di comunicazione che dimostrano plasticamente, ancora una volta, che il fine principale della spedizione era il messaggio politico, non certo l'invio di aiuti nella Striscia.

But we will not stop protesting until Saif and Thiago are finally home, safe and sound. We will continue to demand explanations from the European Union regarding what happened and immediate sanctions against Israel for this illegal abduction and for the continued violations of international law and the human rights of the Palestinian people.”
Meanwhile, Saif Abukeshek has issued a call to continue the mobilization for Palestine. “I left behind thousands of Palestinians, prisoners, children, women and men. I am sure that the treatment I received is not comparable to the suffering they are experiencing. The testimonies we have heard are of daily torture and violence,” he said in a video disseminated by the Flotilla’s Telegram channel. “We cannot forget the Palestinian prisoners. We must continue to mobilize until Palestine is free,” he insisted. Communications operations that graphically demonstrate, once again, that the main purpose of the expedition was the political message, not sending aid to the Strip.
