#SNCF 🇫🇷 #X2800 railcar “noses” at Saint-Claude. In the early 2000s, this place in the #Jura hills, east of Lyon and not too far from the Swiss border, used to be a refuge for aging railcars working regional services in the area.

Saint-Claude 🇫🇷 (Jura) is a railway hub northeast of Lyon, and it used to be a sanctuary for elderly #SNCF #X2720 “RGP” and class #X2800 “Bleu d’Auvergne” railcars in the early 2000s.

Rural #France 🇫🇷 in the early 2000s: a somewhat sad sight with this single #SNCF #X2800 railcar, close to the end of its career, on a #TER service near Bourg-en-Bresse. The 1970s train station sign (on the left) has become illegible, with letters fallen off and the glass broken.
