Good morning! I'm watching the #HugoAwardCeremony currently. #WorldCon76 #WorldCon2018 #WorldCon

RT @[email protected]: The computer running the streaming video thinks it’s Windows update time. Anyone want to bet on whether it autonomously decides to restart right as the Best Novel envelope is opened? #HugoAwards #worldcon76 #Worldcon2018

RT @[email protected]: Hello #worldcon2018 - I have nothing official to do today but remind you that @[email protected] needs MOAR MENTORZ for our career development program! (NO critiquing work, you do NOT need to be a SFWA member to participate) Please consider helping an emerging writer: https://buff.ly/2L8h2MQ

SFWA Career Mentor Questionnaire

Greetings, SFWA Mentorship Initiative Mentor Applicant! We're happy that you're interested in our program, and are gratified to see you “paying it forward.” We will do our best to respond to any inquiries within five business days. The SFWA Mentoring Initiative is an all-volunteer service provided free of charge, which aims to connect emerging writers to each other and to established pros with the objective of providing community, sharing knowledge, and offering networking opportunities. It is in general focused on professional development rather than artistic development. In other words, if you are selected for the program, you will not be expected to critique work for your mentee. The Initiative is open to SFWA members both active and associate as well as to aspiring members. Mentors are drawn from the ranks of active and associate SFWA members and other professional writers. Each match will last six months, barring unforeseen circumstances. One of our goals is to create ongoing relevance in SFWA by extending its benefits to the generations of writers who will hopefully join and perpetuate the organization. Please let us know a little about yourself by answering the following questions. These questions will help us match participants. Please contact [email protected] with any further questions. If you would like to see the guidelines, they are available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nBokDuHmyct6BpF3qfgLqWf_Te-QPmsFbgrI_Fb0UEw/edit?usp=sharing

After a couple days' agonizing over my professional responsibilities, I have decided to blow off much of this evening's #worldcon2018 in order to see @[email protected] perform across the road. This was a very, very good decision.
