#WritersCoffeeClub Mar. 23: What's the most you've worked on a WIP before deciding to scrap it? What happened?

It was a pre-Cataclysm #WorldOfCalliome novel that I was some 50,000+ words into. I wasn't satisfied with the resolution I was building towards and I just don't know that the story itself adds anything to the world. I won't say I'll never revisit it, but I haven't had a desire to do so.

#WordWeavers Mar. 6: If you have several stories, which one should a new reader start with?

I generally recommend Summer of Crows for adult fantasy readers because it's the most recent and best-written (IMO). It's part of the #WorldOfCalliome novels, but not part of a series, per se.

#WritersCoffeeClub Mar. 4: Share a recent experience where something just 'clicked’.

Not terribly recent, but I struggled with Summer of Crows before I demoted the 3rd viewpoint character to a supporting role and removed the romance between him and one of the protagonists. Then, it was like I couldn't stop writing.

#WritersCoffeeClub Feb. 24:
What's your greatest challenge in fleshing out your setting?"

Having two moons with different orbital periods AND lycanthropes whose transformations are based on moon phases.

Yeah, didn't think that through before introducing it.
