It’s especially well suited to sandboxing with a lot of original GM tools that make it easy to adapt. And it blurs the line that has developed between the fantasy and sci-fi genres for gaming. You can do anything from Firefly to Babylon 5 to Conan to Shadowrun and more.

@Arkanjil @chgowiz @Tim_Eagon @KeithAmmann I’m going with Sine Nomine’s #WithoutNumber system or Green Ronin’s #AGE system as my fantasy/sci-fi go-tos. Throw in Solarian’s #TopSecretNWO, Strange Owl’s steampunk re-imagining of #Space1889, and Mobius Worlds’ #ProwlersandParagonsUE and I’m set. Well there’s a few other systems and settings I want to try but…sigh…can’t we all just get paid to game?
@Tim_Eagon @Arkanjil @ubergrog I’m really into Kevin Crawford’s #WithoutNumber system (#SWN, #WWN, #CWN). The only reason a group I know still plays 5e is the convenience of the e-book sharing through DND Beyond. For pure fantasy I’d rather try #TDE or #CypherSystem with #Planebreaker. I’d really like to find a group to play #TopSecretNWO.
Of course there are #Shadowdark and #TalesOfTheValiant out or coming out soon. But with #Hasbro’s #WotC’s latest scandal, I think people might be interested in adjacent systems or different systems altogether. Here are a few:
