I just finished White Album 2 and it's great but I can't help but think of it as a perfect case study in the absurdity of society's Monogamous default.

They are functionally a Threesome the entire time he was just dating Setsuna.

This isn't just my usual Bias for for always wanting the Poly Outcome. I can see why it wasn't the logical narrative outcome in something like Rumbling Hearts or the original White Album.

But here there's argument against it, each of them clearly wants both of the other two in their life.

So the interesting coincidence of me watching Akiba's Trip and White Album 2 in such close proximity to each other is that both make reference to the concept of the "Band-Crusher", a Girl who joins a band but then causes it to break up by flirting with all the Boys.

This is a Misogynist trope that famously entered Pop Culture because of Americans being rather Sexist and Racist towards a Japanese Immigrant. so the fact that it's been embraced in Japan itself is rather tragically ironic.

Now I defense of both these individual shows I suspect they're referencing it ironically.
