What is the conscience in the Bible?
 
It’s the God-given inner awareness that judges our actions according to a moral standard. It can accuse, excuse, weaken, become defiled—even seared. And that’s exactly why we need more than conscience. We need Christ.
 
The conscience reveals the problem. The gospel gives the answer.

Your conscience is a gift from God.
 
It warns, it convicts, and it bears witness when something is right or wrong. But it was never meant to save you. It can expose guilt—but only Christ can cleanse it.
