A1. Posting from #fabulous, if a tad nippy at the moment, #VancouverIsland.

A1.a. I am, generically, a #FairWeatherCyclist; the term refers more strongly to **weather**. During active weather I am likely sitting inside (e.g. scrolling caturday pics.)

I am fine riding in freezing weather when it's dry, hopefully sunny, and little wind. Precipitation, adverse breezes, and fog are my nemises.

On the #LeftCoast / #WetCoast. <sigh>

🌧️ Classic Van-city vibes today! Expect a high of $4^\circ\text{C}$ with overcast skies and that familiar Pacific drizzle. It’s a "bring your good umbrella" kind of Wednesday. Wind is light, but the humidity makes it feel a bit crisp. Perfect weather for a cozy latte in Kitsilano or a damp stroll through Stanley Park. Don't forget your reflectors if you're biking! 🚲

@ingalls

Any insights on the incoming #BCStorm, in particular wind direction and speed at the next several high tides?

β€œRain at times heavy mixed with drizzle" for the West Coast today. Possibly the most West Coast of all weather forecasts.

Put another way... even if it's not β€œraining" you'll still be getting fully moisturized. lol

#WetCoast feeling so different from #BCInterior right now.
also note: We remain 2 zones warmer than any other region of Canada east of the Coast Mountains. #WetCoast :)
@WeAreBrisbane here on the #leftcoast / #wetcoast it hit a balmy 16 and should drop to 8 overnight. It is typical, our Winter high is 6.3, summer 24.3 average, so not a lot of range. We are moderated by the cold ocean currents. At 30 the government starts warning people about heat dangers, because we are not used to it - most homes do not (yet) have air conditioning.
I’m sitting on my back porch listening to the thunder off in the west. I can see the rain on the mountain. Slumuxw is the #hulquminum word for rain. I’m thankful when it rains even if inconvenient because it is such an integral part of this territory. I hope the lightning is minimal and the rain quenches the parts that need it. #rain #thunder #WetCoast #indigenous #language #VancouverIsland
Posted the April summary on the blog yesterday. It was a rainy month but I didn’t expect to find two new all time records set for rainfall in a day. The 6th and 9th. We ended up with about 150% of normal (1971-2000) rain for the month. Temperatures were cooler on average but only on the high side. Minimums were >1Β°C above normal.

We did some pretty heavy lifting over the past few days on the #wetcoast to get some rain over the #rockies for our #Alberta neighbours. Hope it helps with the #WildFires there. Will send as much as we can.
