"It is six months since Australia signed up at the COP15 summit to an international target of protecting 30 per cent of the earth for biodiversity by 2030. To meet the target, Australia needs to protect an additional 50 million hectares, 8 per cent of the continent or an area roughly the size of seven Tasmanias. It is a big ask in NSW, where 70 per cent of the state is under private ownership."
