It doesn't help that the editing is so poor you can clearly see there's no staples in the stapler. But that's like the third worst continuity error I've casually spotted.

holy WOW this movie just took a turn. It did so in a manner I can only describe as "awful" and "weirdly telegraphed".

Then we have a legit torture scene not just the threat of one and .... I guess the threatening scene was somehow better
