@seeg this #Wikipedia article smells like an intellectual fraud (not unusual on #history topics) since the article states that #WalterHallstein "was a member of several nominally Nazi professional organizations, but he was not a member of the Nazi Party or of the SA. He is reputed to have rejected Nazi ideology and to have kept his distance from the Nazis."
Yet in « Das Personen-lexikon zum Dritten Reich. Wer war was vor und nach 1945 » ("The Encyclopedia of People in the Third Reich. Who was What before and after 1945?"), written by the journalist Ernst Klee and gathering ~4300 names of the most eminent #nazis, #WalterHallstein is listed p.221 as NS-Führungsoffizier mit Offiziersrang (officers of the German Wehrmacht in #WorldWarII tasked with teaching #Nazi ideology to soldiers).
At least a note in that Wikipedia sentence states that he was a member of the NSDDB (new name of the NSLB in 1935) which implies that he was either a member of the #Nazi Party before 1935 or coopted by two of the most trusted members of the #Nazi Party after 1935.
