Heute ging der #UBL-Katalog mit neuem Design und neuen Features online!🎉
Der Katalog basiert auch weiterhin auf dem #Open-Source-Discovery-System #VuFind, das die UBL für sich und für die finc-Nutzergemeinschaft seit über einem Jahrzehnt erfolgreich betreibt und in dessen internationaler Entwickler-Community aktiv beteiligt ist.
Wir stellen gerade fest, dass bei Tubfind (usner Vufind) die Merklisten beim Ausweistausch verwaisen, da sie an die Ausweisnummer gebunden sind. Logisch, da PAIA auch nur den Barcode liefert und nicht die (permanente) Registriernummer.
Ich bin etwas baff, dass so etwas erst nach so vielen Jahren auffällt.
(Am Rande: Zusätzlich baff, dass 1500 Registriernummern im LBS auch nicht gesetzt waren und auch ne Menge - insbesondere bei sehr alten Konten - merkwürdig aussehen)
Am 30.09. halte ich einen Vortrag auf dem VuFind-Anwendertreffen.
In meinem Vortrag zeige ich, wie ich mithilfe von Python eine Citavi-Datenbank in eine global zugängliche Fachbibliographie überführe. Die wichtigste Erkenntnis: Open Source Software demokratisiert die Informationsverbreitung.

I had a great time at #bid25 in #bremen this week. Listening to librarians from around Germany (and beyond) always gives me bright new ideas.
Did you know that I work with Prof. Dankert on Sesam2050 - a curated bibliography of literature relating to children and youth literature in Germany after 1945.
This might be a small, niche bibliography, but thanks to #vufind it has worldwide reach. I am both amazed and humbled by these statistics.
