Seeing the names and pictures of some of the local boys lost in Vietnam really hit home. During my visit to the Wall That Heals in Hilo on Friday. The closing ceremonies are on Sunday at Mo’oheau County Park. #Hawaii#VietnamMemorial#WallThatHeals
#RedesigningPennsylvaniaAvenue is a great idea and I like the idea of "Civic Space." But I would like to remind the planners to recall that the big protest/event space on the Capitol Mall was "aesthesticized" by placing a "memorial" to soldiers who died in #WWII. Full of bollards and metal chains, it looks like Mordor instead of a thoughtful, communal meditative place the way the #VietnamMemorial in DC is sited. We need "#urbanrenewal" of a non Le Corbusier variety. https://wapo.st/440vR7V
Pennsylvania Avenue changes in D.C. should mean fewer cars, more trees
Over time, Pennsylvania Avenue morphed into an eight-lane urban highway to facilitate car commuters rushing in and out of the city. Then the pandemic hit.
