The Rise of Online Cruelty
Mama Taber put out a new vid yesterday. In case you don't know, she is a working-class, small family farmer, with a Ph.D in munch, plants, and spotting bullshit, and she and her extended support network do amazing progressive things in the rural south.
Her new video is about botanical sexism. How it came about, how it's being used, how to counter it, and what to do when you see it happening. No major movements are in this space yet, but with sex and sperms and prejudice all in the mix (seriously!), it won't be long until some alt-right smooth-brain fuckwit jumps on this and makes it a thing.
It's a long one; 90-ish minutes, I think, but Mama Taber don't waste no-one's time. Give her a click and an ear. She does amazing work.

I watched Jacob Geller's latest essay on The Nürnberg Trials. It goes deep into the affect on the trails; their strengths and weaknesses, and how feeble the concept of democracy is today.
So, here's a question I have stuck in my mind; one which won't leave no matter how I go about it.
Can we have a new Nürnberg Trials today, only not putting (strict def.) war criminals in the dock, but fascist, authoritarian leaders and their funders, lackeys, enablers, and sycophants?
Need we a terrain redefinition in order to achieve peace, or can we go about this in a more (excuse the comparison) South African way: Reconciliation and Protections?
Our am I simply too naïve and this could never work because x, y, and z?

Fantasies of Nuremberg
I was reading an old book on Aesthetics and Symbolism. Exciting, I know. 
It is wordy, so proud of itself, and while the information within is of considerable value, the presentation is insufferably smug.
I mentioned this to a friend, and they linked me to a video from a new(ish) video essayist with only a couple of thousand subscribers. The video was called The Aesthetics of Fascism.
And for someone unknown, without a heavy education in film theory, it's one of the best essays I've ever watched. This video contains approximately two-thirds of this logarheaic book.
