Labor should theoretically be confident ahead of the 2026 Victorian election — but challenges are mounting

On paper, Labor should be confident that it will score an unprecedented fourth term in office when Victorian…

Sorry for not being around everyone for awhile! For those who don't know I've been very involved in the #VictorianElection having not only been the campaign manager for an electorate but did 95% of the campaign myself. It was essentially a second full time job.

I am back though.

I have this week off work and I'm going to try and take some time for #SelfCare including actually #reading and catching up on #TVShows especially as much of #StarWars #TheCloneWars tv show as possible.

I'm going to hopefully launch my #blog but if people want to provide #feedback its over at http://www.acetaylor.id.au It's basically a resume/personal site/base for me.

I slept most of yesterday and this morning and I'm still super tired but also um lets not talk about my #AntiDepressant situation okay? Also ugh this side toot thing doesn't have an option for emojis? This makes me sad!

Anyway, otherwise I'm off to #JobHunt cause I really need a new job. I've not had any interviews from the jobs I've applied for yet which sucks but so is the way of life. I just need it cause $$$

I feel a bit disconnected from those expressing great relief and happiness about the Victorian election result. I guess it's because I never thought the Coalition could win, but I had hopes and dreams for a hung parliament.

So rather than feeling relieved that Daniel Andrews is still Premier I'm contemplating all the work that needs to be done - for example to stop native forest logging and new gas projects.

A hung parliament wouldn't have solved all our problems, but it might have made it easier to get the changes we need.

Anyway, direct action ahoy.

Examples of major mistakes that the LNP made in the #victorianelection 1) Seemingly supporting anti-vax and anti-health expert messages around COVID and lockdown 2) shifting to the right, endorsing candidates who had fundamentalist anti-Australian views 3) lack of focus on climate change 4) no longer term plans on public transport, only short term views 5) David Davis' question dodging on TV when asked direct questions #auspol #springst

Oh dear....so much for the "Cult of Dan" smear....

Weeks of coverage (despite Gallup giving Labor a clear lead of 55% preferred party right up to today) of false hope & spin that had #MatthewGuy becoming premier? Where are those headlines now? 🙄😬🤭🤣 #Labor #LaborWins #VictorianLabor #VictorianElection #MurdochOut #MurdochGutterPress
‘Hope always defeats hate’: Labor’s Daniel Andrews returned as premier in 2022 Victoria state election

Despite ‘incredibly challenging’ few years negotiating Covid, Labor cruises to victory, while the Greens and Nationals gain seats

The Guardian

Very glad to see that the #Murdoch media's campaign to defeat Labor in the #VictorianElection failed in the end.

I don't want our media to be so dreadful and right now, they are. They're failing us by spreading misinformation, by being blatantly pro-right wing, in an era where we desperately need progressive action to combat what lies ahead.

Lot of sound and fury in the lead up to this one and it looks like the ALP keep a very similar lead in seats won.

Watching Jeff Kennett melt down in real time was very worth it.

Not being able to tweet about the ridiculous things Labor candidates losing their seats are saying is killing me right now. #auspol2020 #victorianelection
