Okay, a huge part of the reason is that they’re built for typical male dimensions. If you’re short and/or female, good luck finding one that addresses your reality.

Lisa MiguezAt my grocery store the clerks are now able to raise the conveyor at the till which I think is great ergonomically for them. Not so great for me now though, hefting my groceries up to the conveyor about chest level, me and my 5 foot nothing self.

I got a new #OfficeChair from a building being decommissioned. It's super cushy and has a huge up/down adjustment range.
But it has a fatal flaw: The seat is too long for my 5'1" body. If I sit up straight with my back against the seat's back, my legs stick out like a little kid.* After a day of desk work, it REALLY hurts my knees.
I'd love recommendations for grown-up office chairs built for small bodies! Thank you!
