I'm just listening to a podcast from the founder of #verbio.
In it he explains that the reason electro cars are gaining now more popularity in germany.
There's a limit on emissions.
Electro-cars are defined as 0 emission.
If one company goes over the amount X emission they have to pay a file. So they want to bring e-cars on the market, since then they can still sell their fossil fuel cars, but without needing to pay the file.
methan made out of straw is less of capitalis interest here, because it as way higher emission then the defined 0 from e-cars.
so kind of however the law was intendet, it does support again the fossil fuel industry.
* e-cars take a lot of resources to build. their emission is not 0 since electricity needs to come from somewhere. If done with coal for example, it's propably among the most destructive methods to travel.
