Good.

The #BoM spokesperson saying it out loud.

It's #climatechange, stupid.

Bushfire.io is so good. I wish VicEmergency would make their map more customisable rather than an incoherent jumble of overlapping polygons and icons.

Advice from #VicEmergency re smoke from #VicFires

Not ONE MENTION OF USING A MASK.

Not one.

We continue to live in the #COVID19 #pandemic and we have learnt nothing. Not a fucking thing.

#WearaN95mask

Just went to the shops.

People out walking their dogs, walking and running, meeting for coffee outside.

Smoke from the #VicFires is blanketing #Melbourne

I was the only person to #wearaN95mask at all times, both inside the shop and outside.

People are entirely FITH* and they all have #COVIDBrain

*FITH = fcked in the head

Melbourne covered in horrendous #VicFires smoke but the tennnis must go on.

Can't have the #AO losing all that money, now can we?

Also, elite sportspeople are inhaling approx one pack of cigarettes every hour by playing tennis outside.

This is how utterly stupid we are now.

Hot air balloons travel through a bushfire smoke-filled sky in Melbourne on Sunday morning.

Smoke from the fires in the Otways blowing into Melbourne.

Close windows and doors, turn on air filter if you have one.

The #Longwood #Bushfire is still not controlled btw (https://emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/#!/warning/40332), over ten days now. Hope everyone in the area is still keeping an eye out!

My brother in law lost his house in the Longwood fire last Friday.

The house and sheds he lost were built by his parents after they were burnt out in the 1969 fires around Yea. Insurance reneged on a technicality. The trauma was passed down to my wife. She and her twin brother were 18 months old when their mum took them down to the creek as the old family home burned. As a lieutenant in the CFA, my father in law was out saving other people’s houses. When he got home he couldn’t find his wife and children. He thought he had lost them.

Last Friday was another nightmare that we watched unfold on the bushfire app. Fate, chance, whatever it is, is cruel. Both fires came through on the 8th and 9th of January, 56 years apart. The house of so many happy family memories has gone. It feels like bushfire bookcovers our lives.

Please share, if you can.

I received a timely reminder to always have in-app tracking protection turned on when using the vic emergency app.
