I've revisited Gun N’ Roses Use Your Illusion albums. Me and my friends thought 2 albums was overkill and spent hours debating the perfect track listing for a single album version. We couldn't agree.
Listening to them now I can see why. Not all the songs are classics but there are no bad songs here. I think I'm finally at the age to fully appreciate these albums just as they are.
After disparaging Use Your Illusion for years as moments of prodigious genius floating in a sea of dreck, I’m trying to listen to this with new ears (or, maybe with the ears of ~12yo me who thought it was wall-to-wall amazing).
