1. Minimize ewaste and give purpose to/extend the lifetime of older but working devices.
2. An updated version of Android often means better security (and sometimes better performance).
3. Removal of bloatware, having a deGoogled mobile experience, and more user freedom.

Officially, it supports up to Android 8.1 but after some tinkering, I got it to run Android 13 (Lineage OS 20). It's also fully deGoogled with most of the apps coming from FDroid or sideloaded via APKs.

I've been looking for a tablet to read my comics/manga on and while i could've just bought a new/recent one, there's something about upcycling Android machines that just feels more me. 🤣
So I got this used Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016, model SM-T580) for about P3,500. 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a good-enough screen (1920x1200 @224ppi) for a reader/media tablet.
