Just this past week in Europe we've had the Lennart Meri Conference in Tallinn, Estonia, the Copenhagen Democracy Summit in Denmark and the 2023 Geneva Summit for Human RIghts and Democracy.

Lots of insightful analysis and heartbreaking first-hand accounts of *ongoing* abuses by despots that simply should not have happened in the latter half of 20th century and should be *unthinkable* in the 21st century...

Lots to digest, far more still to do, but at least there was *finally* the underlying current of realization that democracies need to get their act together, *together*.

The entire era of free world financiers, industrialists and peddlers having a free ride — free from any semblance of moral accountability — while empowering dictatorships in their increasingly coordinated war against peoples' civil liberties and democracy across the world must come to an end.

1989 wasn't the end of #totalitarianism (just note the June 4th and the business delegations to Beijing that quickly followed!), it was merely the beginning of greed that would nourish and empower the despots 'biding their time and hiding their strength'. The German euphemism “Wandel dürch Handel” (change through trade) really meant Business *without* Change.

Pro tip: avoid all businesses still greedily entangled with dictatorships. Completely. If we, the free people, don´t support democracies, who will?

The era of democracies selling out to any and all despots is coming to an end.
