Whoever has used the recent large language models with "agentic" (i.e., decision making) properties understands the perception of omnipotence they induce. This may lead to megalomania or not - in any case social hierarchies will get steeper, and more volatile, and more detached from reality.

I'm not sure if a mass of people, Orwell's "proles" can counterbalance that. Technology will not safe us, but maybe language will.
