Knew this was coming, but I've enough to deal with day to day that I haven't dwelt on it.

Now it's here, I feel sick to my stomach.

I dread having to pass on the news because I can already imagine their reaction... the impact...

Many seem to think it's not something that will ever affect them and so they need not care. But none of us knows what lies ahead... whether an accident, bad luck, poor health...

The country has been groomed into accepting cruelty.

It's going back to the #scroungers rhetoric*, the idea of the #UndeservingPoor who are too lazy to work. It's appealing to Daily Mail readers who believe in the myth that the unemployed are all fat, feckless, and frittering away taxpayers' money. It's fat-shaming and totally, utterly pointless (for the reasons listed above, among others). 🤬🤬🤬

*Not that it ever really went away, tbh. 🙄
