They'd also look at the fate of the Iraqi "Marsh Arabs" who were promised help by George H. W. Bush, and I think, minority ethnicities like the Hmong in Vietnam, and AIUI communist anti-Nazi partisans in Italy, and the assurances given to Ukraine as part of UKR giving up its nuclear weapons, and the disappearance of US support for anti-Assad rebels on Trump's orders.
