Can boy-girl friendship survive? – a question that is old as time

https://i.imgur.com/GbPXQzK.mp4

In a rural junior high school, a boy and a girl pledge eternal friendship, and two years pass without any progress in their relationship as they become destined for one dream…! Inuzuka Himari, a cheerful girl who has yet to find her first love, and Natsume Yu, a passive boy who loves flowers, are still best friends in their own gardening club in their second year of high school. “If Yu can’t get married, I’ll have to take responsibility for you.” “After Himari said that, I’m having a hard time because your brother started calling me, ‘My brother-in-law!'” However, when Yu reunites with his first love from the past, the wheels of their relationship suddenly go haywire! Will Himari, who has discovered love, be able to break free from her “ideal friend”?

Anime-Planet

Can a friendship remain platonic, or will the love triangle rise?

Alright, the new spring brings new love or in this case a love triangle. Danjo no or can boy-girl friendship survive, asks the question that is old as time. And honestly, the answer is; no. From the start, it is very obvious that Himari has some feelings towards Yu. Which is pretty much any setting for any high school romance, right? well, I do like the twist of throwing in a love triangle at the start and not like 5-7 episodes deep in.

The premises itself isn’t anything new, except the twist of throwing in a crush at the start. Which does make it an interesting dynamic between Yu, Himari and Rion. How will the three deal with each other’s feelings in what would be a very messy love triangle. Someone is bound to get hurt. Ah, those pesky teenage hormones raging! Yu, you two timing swine!

Danjo no tries to ask is, can a platonic relationship, stay platonic? and the answer is pretty much thrown in our faces, let alone answered

Yu the accessory maker using flowers, pretty good maker too

Yu is the leading ladies’ man, boy hell how do these milquetoast characters win these ladies over. Anyway, he is into flowers thus being in the gardening club, and making accessories, which he is really good at, pays attention to details – only if he did that with a certain someone hanging off of him *hint* all the time – that’s the one thing that annoys me about Yu and male characters like him, he has a girl that are practically throwing themselves, yet they pick the one that does the least for them, all because they’re pretty, lame. Himari notes that his eyes light up when he is focusing on the accessories or flowers. I have to say, Yu does have a knack for fashion accessory making, for those who love flower language, he gives a bit of a run down on their meanings. I do suspect his feeling will start to split as the series progress – what an idiot. Hard to tell if he is uninterested or in denial regarding Himari

Himari the energetic and cupid player, but has the arrow miss fired on her instead

Himari the bubbly, brash, energetic, out of the box thinking girl who bought Yu’s accessories back in middle school and thus began begun to be his model and promoter of his products. The promise made between the two is that, if Yu can’t have a store and sell his stuff by the age of 30, she’ll marry him – that is some foreshadowing or red herring right there. Apparently, she has been on dates, however not been in any romantic relationships. So, she has some experience, just nothing serious. Her “flirty” playfulness or banter with Yu is what makes their platonic relationship, interesting. Yu seems to be casually attracted to her, but nothing romantic as of yet. Himari on the other hand, is or was in denial about her feelings towards Yu.

Rion, can go kick rocks far as I’m concerned

Would I continue watching?

It isn’t gaming changing, however I do think the series is good, so I’ll keep watching. I do theorise Yu will come to a crossroad on his feelings as to who he really wants

A really disappointing flipping of the script Zenshu

Seriously had high hopes for Zenshu, as it looked interesting. In fact, the concept is interesting, rewriting or flipping the script of your favourite show. Even changing the fate of characters that befalls them in the show. Sadly, there are issues as zenshu progressed. I had bit of a hard time really staying fully invested in post 3 episodes.

Studio: Mappa
Season: Winter 2025
Episode: 12

First impression Previous Mini review

Positives:

Interesting start

Animation is top notch

Band maid does the OP, can’t go wrong with that

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ9RRiy43j4

Nice little hark to well-known animators in the industry with their iconic drawings like gundam etc

Natsuko being shoved in to doing her drawing desk, there is a small bg music being played, repeating the name of the show, zenshu, I found that quite amusing

Natsuko being thought of as a gremlin at the start is actually quite amusing

Negatives:

Progressively gets bad after it continues on

Bare bones character development for the gang, understandably their fate was predestined, even with the interventions, they barely had any development

The romance between Luke and Natsuko is drier than a well in a desert

Unio can get annoying at times

Memmnel small story arc is interesting, sadly didn’t really go any further than what the movie said would happen

Pacing was meh

The director / bird reincarnated in her own film isn’t explained why she wants the movie to remain the way it is written

The story of overcoming or changing fate / destiny should be a positive, instead it made the whole process uninteresting, even felt dragged out

You can see partially how it would end; I suspected the ending would have Natsuko come back to reality or bring the perishing gang to her reality

Natusko change was predicable from the start: from being unapproachable, loner, to one who would accept help from people and be more happy / approachable

Grade:

E+

I Left my A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!

https://i.imgur.com/9GwcUOa.mp4

“I can’t do this anymore!” Yuke Feldio, a red mage, just left his adventurer A-Rank party. After being mistreated as a handyman and ridiculed for five years, he finally snapped! And so began his desolate, unemployed life… or so he thought! Through a stroke of luck, Yuke is welcomed into an all-female adventurer party comprised of his former students!! As they defeat dungeons one after another, Yuke’s true strength is gradually revealed! As it turns out, this red mage wields extraordinary magic and skills?!

Anime-Planet

Rejoining my students is nothing but pure luck!

Well, from the title of the show (or the alt name for it) should give it away as to what this show is – yup you guessed correctly, it’s a LN adaptation. I left my A-rank party to help my former student reach the dungeon depths, nothing really stands out for me. Yuke role as a red mage is basically support class, in universe they are pretty rare, so I’m surprised that for his B rank, his former party members think he won’t be worth much to others. Then again just like any other previous LN that had the MC be booted out of an established party, it needed a plot device in order for Yuke to be booted out of a well-known party to a lesser one.

Having his new party / guild called Clover be all females, is a poor attempt at disguising it being a harem. That’s what it is. I do say, I think Silk the 2nd in command of the party is my favourite, well because she is a dark elf ranger, and I have a soft spot for dark elves. What I left my A-rank party does a bit different than most other LN. They actually have live streaming / recording, which makes it a bit more interesting since parties get to be known for their feats as non and other parties watch.

It has a nice gimmick in streaming / recording, besides that though. It doesn’t do anything that other LN series where the OP MC got the boot from their high ranked party does. I think what makes it slightly interesting for me is, Yuke does help out his former students and even joins them, in comparison to other series where the MC meet or has a love interest follow him out the door of the party to an entirely new one, because his previous party is led by some ass. Expect familiarity when watching the series.

Yuke the red mage and the MC who left his A-ranked party

Yuke, the red mage and pretty much OP. His role is primarily a support class, who can cast multiple spells in quick succession, after 5 years of pretty much carrying his previous party, who are just arses, leaves them. To join his former students, who took him in with open arms and boobs. Standard MC with nothing making him standout for me at all, as he is pretty much what you expect from LN mains. I do find it funny that his class is from Final Fantasy.

Left to Right: Silk, Rain, Marina

The trio of girls who are the unofficial founding members of Clover, they are: Marina, the busty red head, peppy swordswoman, Silk (fav) dark elf ranger and the former defacto leader of the group and Rain, the quiet, short, a lot older than she actually looks, healer of the party. I don’t mind them, just don’t really stand out to me at the moment. Standard tropes.

Would I continue watching?

I probably will continue watching I left my A-rank party to join my former students to the dungeon depths, as it is slightly catching my attention due to the rpg aspects and Silk. I’ll be honest it did galvanise me to rename my main character from GW2, one that stood for 11 years (which is a feat). For others, there are other adaptations out there that would be better spent watching.

How does around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan stand out from other Isekai?

https://i.imgur.com/IyXbcXR.mp4

Ken’ichi, a single man in his 40s, is suddenly transferred to another world. As he navigates his way through the dangerous forests of that world, he realizes that he can use a huge online shopping site. Ken’ichi aims to use his cheat ability to live a slow life in another world

Anime-Planet

What will a 40-year-old do in another world?

Well, an isekai with a bit of a twist. Not your usual high schooler where he gets insane OP skills or anything. Nope, this time a full-grown ass man called Kenichi, who in his 40’s gets to experience the whole she-bang of getting thrown in to another world. With probably the best skill to have if I ever got isekai – an online shopping site that lets me buy anything from my world. The irony in 40 otoko no isekai tsuuhann – it’s based on a manga and not a light novel.

The best way I can describe daily life of a middle-aged man in another world. Think a mixture of campfire cooking (online website), farming in another world, and OP at level 2 in another world. Kenichi wants to live a quiet life, so moves out to the sticks aka woods, then builds himself a nice housing lot. The first episode pacing I found was really fast, it seemed to have slowed down in the epi 2-3. Still a bit fast, especially with all the items he buys off the net with after sales tax text next to each item, which not only is it throwing a lot of information at me, but it also makes me pause the screen just to see how much each item is, which isn’t helpful at all.

Daily life of a middle-aged man, isn’t quiet pulling me in, it’s fine for what it is, just not too compelling for me to invest in the to the series at the present time, that could change though. The series is pretty much building up to him having a harem as well.

Kenichi the 40-year-old-da, I mean lead

Kenichi, there isn’t really I can say about him, he is an experienced adult who knows how to get by in the world, all thanks to his online ability. The irony is that he is meant to have a quiet life yet ends up getting more noticed due to his spending habits online. I like how he isn’t trying to get the younger females, as he acknowledges that he is much older and can’t offer much to them. Essentially, he’s more of a dad.

Prismula, the main love interest for Kenichi

Prismula, the potential love interest for Kenichi. Daughter of a known merchant, with the funniest surname Mallow. That’s right folks I’ve become famous, for those that don’t know I use to go by the name Mallow on this site. Not much else can be said, she has taken an interest into the kindhearted 40-year-old.

Would I continue watching?

I’ll keep watching. It isn’t the most riveting story being told, to be honest, it isn’t too bad either.

Flipping the script in Zenshuu

https://i.imgur.com/xlSSTrI.mp4

After graduating from high school, Natsuko Hirose starts her career as an animator. Her talent quickly flourishes, and she makes her debut as a director in no time. Her first anime becomes a massive hit, sparking a social phenomenon and earning her recognition as an up-and-coming genius director. Her next project is set to be a romantic comedy movie themed around first love! However, having never been in love herself, Natsuko struggles to understand the concept of first love, and as a result, she’s unable to create the storyboard, causing the movie production to come to a standstill

Anime-Planet

When you can flip the script

Wow, wasn’t expecting this at all. After watching three episodes, I do think Zenshu is a hidden gem of the season, if not already a hit of the season. The running theme of Zenshu is; what will you do if you can flip the script on your favourite anime. Yeah, an anime within an anime, which should sound familiar to anyone who has watched Shirobako. Only this one is an isekai. And for once, an isekai show that doesn’t have a long ass winded title.

Some could argue and say Natusko is cheating considering that she is a fan of the anime a tale of perishing. So, she knows what will exactly happen, giving the nine soldiers warning of what’s to come. I personally don’t think that is cheating. We all dream about changing how things panned out in our favourite show, the only way is to do it through fanfic. To be incarnated in the actual show is a cool concept, as you get to live out the fantasy of meeting the characters in that world.

Really love how she flips the script! had me chuckling especially when it looks like a magical girl transformation, an art desk is magically conjured up. What most overlook or miss are these two. One; every time she intervenes, Natusko alters the events in a tale of perishing, thus changing the plot in a way. Two; by being forced to alter the events, she has to draw. In episode one, what is established is she suffering from an artist block. By drawing, she is slowly overcoming it. There is a sub-plot of romance with the main lead of the show Luke Braveheart. The downside I did find, the side characters are flat.

Natusko Hirose is presumably dead…one that doesn’t include truck-kun. She “died” by food poisoning. Being an amazing animator at a young age, she quickly rose to prominence in the animation industry. However, she has next to no social or love life, which makes it funny is that she brings her hair down covering her face, making her look like an onryo or in the show being called a gremlin. Her ability is her peg bar, allowing her to create anything, there is a limit though, she can’t create the same thing twice. And she is the only one that can hear her magical peg bar talk to her. The magical desk scene animation is really good.

Natsuko being the onryo when her hair is down, also that magical peg bar!!

Luke Braveheart. Your typical fantasy hero main lead. Besides that, not much is known about him. In the original anime timeline, he suffers severe depression when Unio dies. I will say chemistry between them does feel dry, since there is a romance sub-plot.

Luke the main of the anime series A tale of perishing, whilst this being an anime

Would I continue watching?

Yeah, I really enjoyed the two episodes. Can’t wait to see what Natsuko will get up to next.

Why Ameku M.D echoes Sakurako’s beautiful bones

https://i.imgur.com/6hox3B0.mp4

Tenikai General Hospital’s Supervisory Department of Diagnostic Pathology handles cases other physicians deem too difficult to treat. It’s also where bizarre mysteries surface, from unexplained illnesses to strange murders even the police can’t solve. At the center of it all is Takao Ameku, a brilliant doctor determined to reveal the shocking truth behind these anomalies

Anime-Planet

Being a medical detective is like finding a bone

Holy heck, it’s been a while that I was able to get started on the new season showing. So, as the title suggests. Yup Ameku MD really does remind me Sakurako beautiful bones. The premises is near identical. Difference is Ameku is probably in her early to mid 30s whilst Sakurako was in her mid 20s. This is due to the profession Ameki is. Plus, her high standing as vice director of the place. Which is very funny considering that Sakurako family is also quite well to do and are in high places.

I really can’t stress the two are near identical, sure they’re both medical mysteries. The only two big difference is that Sakurako had a high school boy called Shoutarou as her assistant, whilst Ameku has a young medical professional called Yu Takanashi aka Kotori. And apparently, he knows karate … err … if I recall Shoutarou also knew karate or some form of defence like that. I’m really having a hard time here NOT be able to compare the two.

After watching the first episode, it was really interesting to see from the physician’s side of things. The long hours, looking at the screen constantly – in Ameku’s case, three (what a set-up). The amount of information they have to absorb, the communication between the different departments. Anyway, I’m getting carried away here.

Ameku the medical detective that is the new Sakurako

Ameku is literally a modern version of Sakurako, from treating her assistant like a slave, to doing whatever the hell she wants. And here is the real BIG KICKER they both love cakes and sweets. They act childish, where their assistants have drag them away or talk them down. I do love the little cut scene of where Ameku works things out. Sakurako did and had the exact same thing. Both ladies are highly intelligent, whilst I do admit Ameku is a cute short-bread. Sakurako still is my waifu

Kotori is the assistant to Saku…Amerku

Takanshi, is literally the older version of Shoutarou, helping her and even protecting her from physical assaults. I do suspect that Ameku does see Takanshi more as a potential love interest, whilst Sakurako was engaged but saw Shoutarou as a kid brother.

I really can’t say more about the characters as I just really couldn’t help but compare the two shows and their characters. If you’ve seen beautiful bones, then you’ll understand why there is a strong comparison between the two.

Would I continue watching?

I love beautiful bones, and this show reminds me of it so much!

Anime that should get another season 15-Day Anime Challenge: Day 15

The final day of the challenge – with an interesting question to end it with, rather than favourite anime. A slight hick-up that broke the streak, sadage, wanted to get the full 15-day streak. Anyhow

An anime I wanted another season for

Well, there are three series I want another season for

1. Sakurako Beautiful Bones

This one is already mentioned in my favourite protagonist. Based off a novel, the anime ended just when the main antagonist is introduced. Without ever knowing what the motives were for, and does he have connections to Sakurako a lot of the questions asked, are left unanswered. Love the OP and ED of the series

2. Arpeggio of Blue Steel

This one most won’t know about. I really enjoyed Arpegio of blue steel, it’s about ‘alien’ warships – named after real WWII warships with mental models aka humanoid avatars that take on forms of ladies. Gunzo commands the rogue submarine model I-401 named Iona. As the story progresses, it turns out these mental models, are forming close knit bonds with each other, calling themselves sisters. Whilst it’s never explained what the whole purpose of the “fleet of fog” is. The interaction of Gunzo and his crew winning over the warships to his side or humanities side, left the question can all of the mental models be won over, who is actually behind the fleet of fog

3. Accel World

Done by the same author of the more well-known SAO franchise. Accel World did have a movies that kind of ties up everything, however reading form wiki it’s more of a recap with a rushed ending of the series. I really enjoyed Accel World, found Haru to be likeable, yeah even though his is drawn differently to that of his mop-chan and childhood friend Takumu, I liked him too. Being the sister series to SAO, sadly this went unnoticed and Haru being “unliked”, yet Kirito is vastly unliked as well, I’ll leave it as that.

Thanks for following along and reading

Yeah, anyone who followed along, thanks so much. This was done on a spur moment. I was thinking of doing the 30-day anime challenge, however opted out, as I was aiming to do it in November since Scribbble Anime turned 2 years old – out of the ashes from that idea this came. I had fun doing this, as it breaks up the schedule for my usual postings. Would I do another challenge, probably.

Newest released anime watched 15-Day Anime Challenge: Day 14

Sorry folks for the late post for the 14th day of the 15-day anime challenge, the penultimate day. Today should have been the last day, however due to my youngest bro being admitted into hospital and staying up all night on Saturday to keep an eye on him left me exhausted on Sunday.

The newest and shiniest show

There are quite a few new shows I’ve been watching, far too many in fact. So, whittling it down to one wasn’t too hard.

And that new show is …

Shangri-La Frontier

So why SLF, as I’ve mentioned it before, this one really appeals to me. Being an mmo player, it just does things that others didn’t quite do. Like SAO or The New Gate. There are very good female players in SLF like Pencilagon aka Towa Amane, who remind me of the players I’ve met during my time playing GW2.

Anyway, the show I’ve pick whether it is for newcomers or people who watched a fair few show

So, the show I recommend is…

An anime that got the boot from my watch list
