...podcast by @TheEconomist, #Greece has probably hit rock bottom and seems to be showing above-avwrage rates of growth.

I have not done any recent macroeconomic comparisons but I hazard the guess that median social security benefits per person as a percentage of #GDP are still higher in Greece than in the #US, even before the ongoimg #Trumpean bloodbath.

Locking in the #Trumpean #TaxCuts for the rich would be almost as disastrous as a default:

Interest rates will rise, as the external value of US government debt (e.g. Treasury Bills) will fall, as the country's credit rating will go down.
Less demand for the dollar will mean a weaker exchange rate and therefore higher (imported) inflation for all goods in which the #US economy is not self-sufficient.

Have to re-finance your mortgage and could pay more bucks for your loan...
