#Justice Juan #Merchan has ordered a new #TrialDate, saying #Trump will face a #jury April 15 on charges that he broke #NY state #law by making #HushMoney payments to hide the info from the #electorate in 2016. It will be the first #criminal trial of a former US president.

Merchan ruled that the DA’s office did not violate its #legal obligations. “This court finds …that the district attorney of #NewYork County is not at fault for the late production of documents from the US attys office.”

…#Sadow has said he will file a motion to #dismiss the charges & move to #sever #Trump’s case from other co-defendants, including… Kenneth #Chesebro, who are seeking a #SpeedyTrial in the matter.

Last wk, McAfee approved an Oct 23 #TrialDate for Chesebro, though #Willis has argued she wants to try all 19 defendants, incl’g Trump, on that date.

Trump is also expected to follow… #MarkMeadows in seeking to move his case from state to #FederalCourt.

The DA in #FultonCounty, #Georgia, has proposed the same trial date.

The trial in #Manhattan, in which Trump has been accused of >30 #felonies connected to #HushMoney payments to a porn actress, is set to go to trial on Mar 25.
