So fun fact about caffeine is that is reacts VERY differently in an #ADHD brain. People with ADHD struggle with regulating dopamine, and for some people, adding a jolt of caffeine can actually give your brain the dopamine it needs to help balance out your brain chemistry and it has a calming effect. I have learnt that when my body is tired but my brain is not, a #RedBull will actually put me right to sleep. Not always, but if I am physically tired enough, it usually does the trick. So at 7am, still feeling locked in a weird panicked feeling, I risked testing this theory again. Sometimes, the RedBull does what it says on the tin and acts as an energy drink, so it was a risk, but after a few sips, I thankfully felt it working its ADHD magic and I was dozing off by 7:30. 😴

I only got 3 hours sleep but it’s a bit of a quiet day today anyways so I don’t need to function much. 🥱 wish me luck lol

I should have known last night was going to be an #ADHD rollercoaster after accidentally cooking my baked potatoes for three hours. I spent the rest of the night locked in transition paralysis at my computer. Literally, the rest of the night. I got some great work done, submitted some job applications and stuff, but I finally dragged myself to bed at 5:30am but still couldn’t sleep. My head was running at 200kph and was juggling a trillion things at once, so at 7am I decided to do something potentially risky that has only made sense to me in the past year — I grabbed a #RedBull and drank about half of it.

Part 2 coming.
