I can imagine an overview page, where I can see what has happened since my last visit, summarised from different angles.
e.g.:
78 new posts, 41 from this server, 37 from other servers, 12 from followers, 4 from close friends,
5 #firsttag, 2 #secondtag, ...
and so on.
Here you would have the option to mark a group as read immediately or save it for later.
GeregoI'm now following 100 accounts. I usually check in 2-3 times a day, and now I cannot keep up with the new content that is being made while I'm away.
Twitter's and FB's resolution to this problem was the algorithmic timeline. I believe that is a dead end, not the right solution.
I'll try to set up lists, and go through them during my checkins.
