I asserted that the best #SteelyDan song of all isn't found on any Dan album; rather it was the Becker/Fagen-penned "American Lovers" that #ThomasJeffersonKaye once recorded. He nodded his approval, danced around a bit, and sang the lyrics back to me a cappella: "You may be the last to walk in the garden / Your life should be living to love one another / And it is no crime to walk with your brother"
