I played the ever-loving snot out of this game as a kid. I never beat it but I loved it so much, it influenced so much of my taste in gaming! This might have to be a day one buy for me

Nightdive Studios is remastering Thief of Looking Glass.
They are doing the same work done for System Shock 2, a graphical update without changes in the gameplay (and SS2 remastered used fan made assets).
I would hope they keep the mod and map compatibility with the original, if not a true support, thing that I think is missing with SS2.

Nightdive Studios, già conosciuto per i remaster di titoli da cult per PC, sta lavorando su Thief della Looking Glass.
Vedo che l'operazione è la stessa per System Shock 2, un aggiornamento grafico con un gameplay invariato.
Spererei che mantengano una compatibilità con mod e mappe utenti (se non un vero supporto), cosa che in SS2 mi pare sia venuta a mancare.

It has been a crazy week in the world of videogames with big announces around every corner, so it’s a little fitting that Thief: The Dark Project Remastered has quietly stepped out of the shadows.

Yes, Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is the new project from Nightdive Studios, bringing back the sneaky classic for PlayStation, Xbox and PC later this year.

“Remastered with Nightdive’s KEX Engine, the release includes Thief: The Dark Project and the additional missions, content and updates from the 1999 Thief Gold re-release,” says the official page. “Explore unscripted, maze-like levels with advanced NPCs, who can hear, speak, and sound alarms if you make a wrong move. Each mission includes 3 difficulty settings with different objectives for maximum replayability.”

Aside from the graphical uplift, there are a couple of quality-of-life improvements as well.

“New weapons and items wheel allows you to quickly select tools and gadgets. Also includes mission selector and support for custom campaigns (PC only).”
