How vandal and looter (per Lord Byron) Thomas Bruce, the 7th Earl of Elgin, left the Parthenon after "lightening" it from its heavy sculptures, and how it looks now after the restoration of the triangle of the east pediment, using local marble from quarries close to the ones the ancients used to make the temple. Most of the sculptures missing are of course (still) at the British Museum.
