Nice little moment at work today: 6th year student doing a project on lasers and prisms and diffraction gratings. Referenced the teacher they had in 2nd year, who I got on well with but left that year. PhD specialist in laser fusion. So we got to chat about the teacher's research, the student's work, and how dropping a £30 glass prism is nothing compared to blowing up thousands of pounds-worth of crystaline optics with a high power laser. #TheCircleIsComplete
