The Bad Plus (s/t 2)

Another Bad Plus reboot, this time replacing piano completely with Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (tenor).

Destined to be the last incarnation of the Bad Plus, if their announcement holds, with a goodbye tour going on this year.

This is recognizably Bad Plus music, while stretching in new directions. The LP itself is a little...murky sounding, unfortunately.

Aw man, The Bad Plus are disbanding at the end of the year!

I was already sad to see their original pianist depart in 2017 but it’s tough to see this group stop. They even had albums titled “Never Stop” and “Never Stop II”!

All the best to them though, incredible musicianship throughout everything
