Miles Smiles is an album by American jazz musician Miles Davis, released on February 16, 1967, by Columbia Records. It was recorded by Davis and his second quintet at Columbia 30th Street Studio in New York City on October 24 and October 25, 1966.

Miles Smiles showcases Davis' deeper exploration of modal performance with looser forms, tempos, and meters. Although the album did not follow the conventions of bop, neither did it follow the formlessness of free jazz. According to musicologist Jeremy Yudkin, Miles Smiles falls under the post-bop subgenre, which he defines as "an approach that is abstract and intense in the extreme, with space created for rhythmic and coloristic independence of the drummer—an approach that incorporated modal and chordal harmonies, flexible form, structured choruses, melodic variation, and free improvisation." - Wikipedia

The Bad Plus (s/t 2)

Another Bad Plus reboot, this time replacing piano completely with Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (tenor).

Destined to be the last incarnation of the Bad Plus, if their announcement holds, with a goodbye tour going on this year.

This is recognizably Bad Plus music, while stretching in new directions. The LP itself is a little...murky sounding, unfortunately.

Out There is an album by Eric Dolphy which was released by Prestige Records in September 1961. It features Dolphy in a quartet with bassists Ron Carter (here playing cello) and George Duvivier, and drummer Roy Haynes. It was Dolphy's second album as a leader, released following his time with Charles Mingus.

Dolphy's group on Out There resembles the late 1950s ensembles of Chico Hamilton, with whom Dolphy played and recorded during that time, in that it features both a cello and a bass; however, unlike Hamilton's group, Dolphy's does not contain a guitar or other chordal instrument.

Writing for PopMatters, Will Layman called the album "a dream come true", and noted how Dolphy and Carter are "free to explore harmony above the minimal barriers of George Duvivier's bass lines and Roy Haynes' snap-crackle-pop stick work.".. - Wikipedia

Bill Evans - Quintessence

Late period Evans, on Fantasy, from 1976. On this, he's joined by Harold Land (tenor), Kenny Burrell (guitar), Ray Brown (bass), and Philly Joe Jones (drums).

A relatively short album, with no Evans originals...but the group does a nice job with these tracks.

I'm going to excuse the bad pun in the title.
