For the lives lost in the fight against Russian aggression, a fight that has significantly weakened one of Europe’s most dangerous armies.
Ukraine stood and continues to stand. We watched, supported, but too little, too late. We had the chance to shorten this war. We chose to let it drag on. That decision, and the cost it brought, is something we must carry, as Europeans, as democrats, as people who believe in freedom.
Our gratitude cannot be temporary. It must echo through decades.
