Texas Children’s Hospital sees record number of ER visits in April among kids with behavioral health issues

In April, nearly 650 children went to the Houston hospital in the Texas Medical Center for reasons including depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. In a typical month, Texas Children's says it receives around 450 pediatric behavioral health patients.
