Yes, I did it. I added a CI and (near) CD to my personal blog, and I wrote up some notes on the experience (given my slightly unusual tech stack) of App Engine (dynamic and static hosting) and Hugo.
I even quickly reached the conclusion that Terraform would reasonably have a place here give modern IAM ecosystem needs and prototyped what a WIF/OIDC Terraform configuration would look like.

I’ve generally been an adherent to a philosophy of spartan simplicity where I can, and that is something I’ve carried forward to my personal web site. In the late-2000s, I ported my web site to Google App Engine (GAE). As stupid as it sounds, hosting static content on GAE was cheap and easy, and it made hosting other backends trivially easy. I had been managing this web site’s lifecycle with a shell script to reduce the toil of tagging and versioning in both my version control system (VCS) and GAE.

I ran into an issue that many seemed to when using Linode (Akamai) with Terraform or Ansible for the first time. To define a Linode VPS, the type/plan and the data center where it should be located is needed. This needs to be provided in a slug format but what are the options?
