An article in the UK's Guardian newspaper says that AI chatbots simply tell users what they want to hear.

I sometime use AI as a research assistant to give me a start, and for Python code or written prose review.

I don't let it think for me. I tried a conversation, but was told that every simple comment was "insightful" and "profound". It quickly became profoundly tedious, giving the insightful view that it really wasn't worth my time..
