@falcennial I suspect when status is the main motivator for exercise, that people may get frustrated and give up if they don't get results quickly and if those results aren't validated by external feedback. So yes, it seems like a short road to disaster (at least for a lot of people).

Also, any time any of us play the exceptionalism game of getting ahead in oppressive systems, we are reinforcing those systems, and thereby doing harm to others and (if that's not enough) also to ourselves.
