First try, and this did not turn out the way I imagined. Glad I only tried it out on parts of the shield. I’ll basepaint over and try again. And this time I’ve actually read a little about glazing, so I’ll use lahmian medium instead of water to thin the paint down. Any other tips or suggestions are welcome! I can’t really tell if I’m happy or unhappy with this so far. I think it hinges very on the next steps where I’ll try to make a glow effect from the blue-white light emanating from inside the shield. I have this idea in my head about how I want it to look, or the effect I want to create, but I might not have the painting skills to pull it off in a convincing way. @pixelworship I hadn’t noticed! Oh, this fills me with all manner of expectations on behalf of the Greater Good! New kits for factions tend to come in batches rather than one and one, right? We could do with some more diverse character options for strike/breacher teams other than ethereals and cadre fireblades, right? Maybe a stealth battlesuit character? Not playing kill team myself, but I do like the new stealth battlesuit models! If someone at #warhammer have already used time and effort to design new miniatures, can we expect new units of XV26 stealth battlesuits for #wh40k as well soon?

I still have the base, the shield arm (I have an idea for that one) and transfers to go, but the #riptide is coming along nicely.
