My original #MARCHintosh goals were to get #globaltalk working on my Mac Plus, just to browse other shares and partake in some of the activities. I managed to get all that done now before 3/1 so my goals for this month now are,

- Move jrouter from a RaspberryPi 3 to a RaspberryPi 5
- Sharing working with Netatalk
- Connect my 512ke to GlobalTalk via TashTalk
- Consolidate everything to a single RaspberryPi 5
- Write at least one blog post a week documenting what I have done

I’m confused about the #TashTalk. What comes out the non-LocalTalk end? What does a rpi or similar host need to implement to talk to other devices?

(The thing’s not really for me, anyway; I’m more EtherTalk-inclined; I’m just looking to understand better.)

I’ve been rebuilding a #RaspberryPi installation that supports my classic Mac habit 😄

I used to use the awesome #MacIPGW image which includes a ton of pre-configured software like #netatalk. But it hasn’t been updated in a while so I used it as excuse to start from scratch.

I used this Pi Zero W as my starting point. HDMI video stopped working on it for unknown reasons. I added an Ethernet/USB hub hat and a #TashTalk 2 hat for #LocalTalk devices.

Got a #TashTalk hat for the Raspberry Pi which should allow it to talk natively with LocalTalk networks. I think (hope) this enables some cool AppleTalk functionality. Super simple build.
