Next time I fly over to #Taiwan will be in March for the #TaipeiCycleShow - which is Asia's largest #bicycle trade show and the 2nd-largest worldwide.
Right after the show, I have been invited for a four-day trip that should be truly awesome:
We'll be picked up by a van from Nangang Exhibition Center in #Taipei and shuttled down to the Wujie tribe in #Nantou district.
On day 2, we'll ride the Wuba highway on mountain bikes, on day 3 along the Zeng Wengxi river on gravelbikes. #travel 1/2
@jonathan
My first trip to Taiwan dates as far back as December 2008. Got sent there as a freelance journalist to join a factory tour.
In March, I usually take the trip to work at the #TaipeiCycleShow and in September/October it's the #TaichungBikeWeek. Unless there's a pandemic, that is.
So it's all related to the bicycle industry, really. At least work-wise. Since I'm also a big fan of everything Japanese and Taiwan has quite some traces of that as well, it's a perfect fit.
On Wednesday, March 9th the #TaipeiCycleShow as Asia's largest #cycling trade show opens its doors at #Taipei's Nangang Exhibition Center.
If it were not for #Covid19, I'd be at Zurich airport now, waiting to board a flight to #Taiwan in order to find and produce daily news at the show. Instead we have pre-produced two Bike Show Daily magazines remotely that will be published on Wednesday and Thursday.
I would have preferred to be there in person, but for now that is not possible.
Normally I'm the one taking photos at trade shows, being behind the lens. But obviously someone took a photo on day 3 of the #TaipeiCycleShow at the booth of #Arofly. #work #cycling
Made some decent evening ambiance pics from #Taipei's #Nangang office district during #TaipeiCycleShow. Shots taken from 6th floor of Nangang Exhibition Center's hall 1 where we had our offices last week. #Taiwan #architecture
Good to see that #rollers racing has found its way to the #TaipeiCycleShow as head2head sprinting this year. The crowds liked it - almost as much as the giveaway raffle at Garmin. Now that's a queue! #cycling #work #Taiwan
The last hour of the second day has started at #TaipeiCycleShow. For us, it's the third day of producing the official magazines of the show. And no: It's not the last hour of #work for us - far from it. We'll be happy if we're done by 9pm. #Taipei #Taiwan
Two hours to go at home before I'm heading to #ZRH airport to fly to #Taiwan. First week for #TaipeiCycleShow, second week for holidays. Weather reports look good for this time of the year, really. Looking forward to the #food!
Flying to #Taiwan for the #TaipeiCycleShow in two days. Still lots of things to take care of before leaving for 2.5 weeks. One week of #work in Taipei, a weekend in Taichung and then a roundtrip to Taitung via Kaohsiung using #TRA. The ride should take less than three hours and offer quite some spectacular views from the train. #travel #FarEast
Watching #Emirates' #A380 slowly gaining height after its start at #ZRH airport from my balcony. In one month and two days' time I'll be on board again myself, en route to #Taiwan and the #TaipeiCycleShow. #work #travel
